Alt Tech - Don't get cancelled

Just thought I'd put this up for people to share alternative types of social media and internet tools to use when you may notice that certain sites/streams or voices get cancelled.
There are alternatives to most social media if you don't like using the main companies, some of the good, some a bit shit.
Please post up your experiences of them, or post up your own ideas of alternatives to Youtube, facebook etc
Rumble (Youtube video streaming site) - very good, not quite as slick as YT, but easy to search for content and pro-free speech, does not de-monetise unless users incite violence or break laws in local country
Gab - (Twitter alternative, but now offers GabTV (yt) and various other plug ins) - promotes free speech, does not allow incitement to violence (founder is christian but allows atheists and satanists to post)
Bitchute - (YT alt) - clunky but lots of content, maybe some dodgy stuff
Telegram - (Whatsapp/IM alt) - easy to use, very good app (Russian owned and hosted)
Yandex - (gmail/google alt) - again russian owned and hosted but reliable, fast and does not seem to censor
Would be interested in your experience/opinions on these and other ideas for alt platforms.

It's a bit of messing around to get it to work - I ended up having to uninstall and Reinstall a couple of times and ended up getting it to work without the latest update.

Thanks for the tip on YouTube Vance. I'm on YouTube a lot and the repetitive ads in Thai give me the shits.
Hopefully it's not stealing my data, especially my crypto password.

If you're on Android install YouTube Vanced.
Then block all the ads, set as default and never have to worry about 15 second ads annoying the shit out of you again.
LOVE THIS. Do you have anymore Android trickery??
I used to root all my phones and mod the shit out of them but since they're all so powerful now (and banking apps rely on non-root) I hardly bother.

No, might look out for that.
I read an article years ago about how FB was derived from lifelog, which was created by DARPA to harvest private data. Not sure how true, you can still find parts of articles about this now though.

I think maybe Youtube has turned on Joe Biden as when I searched 'president's day' all I found was a number of clips in Florida supporting Donald Trump, and couldn't find a single celebration for the president with the most votes in US history.
He was on 'The View' though, so maybe all 80m Biden voters were busy watching that?

I also like BigStackD and Random Hands - just videos of people making things from scratch. BigStackD just melts common knackered metal items and then forms ingots from them, random hands had a great one where he melted down a link from an old ship's chain and turned it into a japanese sword.

Pickle - I don't collect them. I don't have any. I just like to look at the videos on YouTube. Antique traps, ones used by indigenous people, modern ones, new inventions, etc. You would be amazed at the variety of ways humans have tried to trap and kill rodents throughout history. The different methods and mechanisms. Often extremely creatively.
There is a fantastic channel called Mousetrap Monday where the guy explains and reviews a different trap each week (modern, antique, whatever). The guy even builds traps from diagrams from the patent office. His viewers from all over the world send him their own invented rodent traps for him to review (he has a barn with a ready supply of nuisance rodents). He is really good with tools and makes his own traps and recreates ones from the past.

I'm using Signal, which is another alternative to WhatsApp. Not sure if Putin and KGB own that as well but it seems OK.
